Hindi literature is deeply rooted in Indian culture. The National language is that single thread which helps in unifying people from the diverse cultures of our country. Hindi as a second language was introduced in the year 1973,

the year the college was established. Mrs. Sharmishtha who was the first member of the Department and Dr. Sharada Contributed significantly to the development of the Hindi department. The department has grown, keeping pace with the needs of the college and is presently headed by Dr. P. Sunita. Dr.P. Sunita has been appointed as Incharge Principal on 1st April 2019 and Ms. Seema is appointed for the department. The faculty encourage students to participate in academics, literary and cultural activities in the institution and also accompanies students to other institutions where such competitions are held. The number of students taking part and winning has seen a rise in the recent past.

Faculty Achievements

  • Dr. P. Sunita presented a paper on “Mahamari Ke Virudhh Sahityik Pratikriya: Bhoot aur Vartaman”, in a two day National E-Conference on “Language and Literature” organized by Sarojini Naidu Vanita Mahavidyala on 28th and 29th May 2020.
  • Dr. P Sunita was invited to speak on ‘Women&Safety’ at Police Commissioneriate office. Hyd on 19th December 2019.

  • Dr. P. Sunita served as academic coordinator from the year 2012-2013 & 2014-2015 and also served as a chief Superintendent for the academic year 2016-2017, Semester examinations.
  • Dr. Sunita attended three refresher courses and one orientation course conducted by Academic Staff College, Osmania University.

Faculty Achievements

  • Ms. C. Suchitra of BSc I year, secured first prize in Hindi Elocution, organized by Dakshin Bharat Hindi Prachaar Sabha, Khairtabad on 14 Sep 2019 on the occasion of Hindi Diwas.
  • Hindi Hain Hum Vishwa Maitree Manch has conducted Inter Collegiate Elocution competition, on the occasion of Antar Rashtriya Hindi Diwas on 10/01/2020, Ms. Kavita Kumari of BSc I year, has secured second prize in the competition.
  • 'Vidyanjali 'has conducted an Inter Collegiate Elocution Competition on 9th Jan 2020, Ms.Kavita Kumari of BSc I year had won first prize in Elocution Competition.
  • Aarya Samaj, Warasiguda, Secunderbad has conducted Elocution Competition, Ms. Soumaya of BSc II year has secured second prize in the competition.

Moment Of Pride

On the occasion of Global convention on under privileged in India, organized by All India Sc/St Rights Protection Society, Hyderabad, Shri Eatala Rajender Garu Hon’ble Health & Medical minister , had felicitated Dr P Sunita on 18 aug 2019 , for her selfless services to the society.

Organized a FDP on ‘Using ICT for Effective Teaching with Learning Management System”, by retired prof M Venkateswara (formerly Head Dept of Hindi, Arts college, O U, Principal Arts College O.U, Head Dept. of India Studies, English & Foreign language University Hyd ) on 18th December 2019.

Organized a guest lecture on occasion of Hindi-Diwas by Dr Pankaja Mehata on 14th September 2019. The department of library science had organized Hindi Books exhibition for the staff & students.

Organizes Annual literary and cultural competitions like Essay writing, Elocution, Poetry recitation and Antakshari.

Students contributes their original work to the college magazine under the guidance of the faculty.
