About:

Kasturba Gandhi Degree & PG College for women instituted the Department of Political Science in 1973, the year of its own establishment. The department initially offered one course at the undergraduate level- Economics, Political Science & Public Administration, as EPP for convenience. An additional combination – History, Political Science and Modern Language, HPL was introduced in 1979 and an elective paper International Relations was introduced in the same year. Curriculum revised for B.A Ist year in 2016-2017: Choice Based Credit System was introduced (CBCS). In 2018-2019 Academic year new combination was introduced: HPP (History, Political Science and Public Administration)

  • The Faculties of Social Sciences conducted annual college Literary Quiz Competition on general knowledge on January 9th
  • Group discussion on prime minister modi’s visit to israel: India’s role in International Relations with b.a iii year students on 5th july 2017.
  • The Department of Political Science conducted the assembly on April 2nd Students gave an awareness on the upcoming Lok Sabha elections and the duty of civilians to use their franchise in this largest democracy.
  • Assembly proceedings were taken up by the department of political science on July 18, 2017. Students spoke on two important events:- Malala day and Nelson Mandela day.
  • The Department of Political Science has organized a documentary session for the BA students on “ANNIHILATION OF CASTE SYSTEM BY DR.B.R. AMBEDKAR.” on 12 March 2020.
  • “Career counseling” was conducted for social sciences students by Dr. P. Aruna Reddy, Retired Professor, Kasturba Gandhi Degree & PG College for Women on 15th April 2019.
  • An awareness programme conducted on “ GENDER SENSATISATION” by IQAC in collaboration with the Departments of Political Science and Public Administration on 24th and 25th JANUARY 2019.
