The department of Sanskrit is one of the oldest department in the College. At present it is headed by Ms. M.Sushma with 10 years of teaching experience. The college introduced Sanskrit as of the second language subject .The syllabus of the degree course is strictly according to CBCS. Sanskrit is rich in vocabulary, literature, thoughts, ideas, meanings and values. The language is having market ability after graduation at both National and International level. The vision of the department is to see that the career they pursue.

Faculty Achievements

  • Ms. M. Sushma presented a paper titled "Geeta Sudha" on 21.01.2020 at National Seminar IIMC.
  • Ms. M. Sushma also presented a paper titled "Vaidikavangmayasya sarvakaleena pradhanyatha" at National Seminar in Bhavans College on 20.01.2018.
  • Ms. M. Sushma presented a paper titled "ITC TOOLS IN TEACHING SANSKRIT" at National Seminar in St.Anns Degree College, Mehedipatnam on 21.02.2018 and also presented a paper titled "Matru bhashalo vidyabodhana" at National Seminar in Tirupathi RSVP on 21.01.2017.

Students Achievements

  • Students participated in Sanskrit songs, Sloka recitation, poster presentation, group song and got first, second, third prizes held at Sanskrit Academy OU on Aug 16, 2019.
  • A five days’ Workshop on Computational Linguistic Tools in Sanskrit was held at Sanskrit academy, OU, nearly 20 students attended the program.
  • K.Likhita of B.Sc (MPCS) secured First rank in OUCET (Sanskrit) 2018, with 97marks.

As a part of Interdepartmental activity the students of Sanskrit, History and English departments, were taken on a field trip to SalarJung Musuem and Chowmahalla Palace on 21/09/2019

  • The Department of Sanskrit conducted Sloka recitation competition at college level
  • Conducted Annual college literary Sloka recitation Competition on January 2018. Ms. K. Likitha and Ms. P. Pranitha won the first and second prize respectively.

The department organized a Guest lecture on “MAHABHARATA OF VYASA” on Guru Pournami on July 27th 2018, by Prof.Ramulu ,Head, Department of Sanskrit, Osmania University.
