The Department of Business Management at the University of Hyderabad adopted five villages in Nagarkurnool mandal: Thoodukurthy, Peddapur, Peddamudnur, Gudipalle, and Salkarpet. The department conducted a series of activities under the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) program in these villages. A 3-day training program for nodal officers of participating institutes of UBA in Telangana State.
During the PRA exercise and household survey conducted in the five adopted villages, several issues were highlighted by the villagers, including open defecation, dilapidated Anganwadi schools, lack of veterinary centers, livelihood and skill-based training, and drinking water issues. The villagers also requested post office facilities, bus shelters, transport facilities, and libraries. The Department is committed to contributing to the success of the UBA program by addressing the needs of the adopted villages and engaging with the local community.
