About:

The PG Department of English, was established in the year 2018. With the rising need for the language, the College took upon itself the responsibility of catering to the need of those students who passionately seek the ‘sweet knowledge’, and in the words of Sir Philip Sidney, which leads to the ‘perfection of our degenerate souls.’ We started the course with 47 students and were delighted to see the twinkle in the eye of the ones who sat before us with the hope and belief that their desire for literature and its philosophical outlook will be well answered. English leads its learner towards a plethora of opportunities and equips its users with skills, without which any education lies stranded. Though the journey of PG Dept. of English has just started, we are glad that we have provided an opening to the much sought after course. Lots remains to be explored , I for one can assure that this path is laden with jewels and in the words of great writers ‘ink and paper cannot be to a more profitable purpose employed’ as it ‘ teacheth and moveth man to higher action of virtue.’

DEPARTMENT OF MA ENGLISH

‘Only the poet disagrees to be tied down with limits. He is lifted up with vigour and invention and brings forth new forms which nature does not carry directly.’ Sir Philip Sidney

The Department of MA English, Kasturba Gandhi Degree and PG College for Women, was established in the year 2018. With the rising need for the language, the College took upon itself the responsibility of catering to the need of those students who passionately seek the ‘sweet knowledge’, and in the words of Sir Philip Sidney, which leads to the ‘perfection of our degenerate souls.’

English leads its learner towards a plethora of opportunities and equips its users with skills, without which any education lies stranded. Though the journey of Dept. of MA English has just started, we are glad that we have provided an opening to the much sought after course. Lots remains to be explored , I for one can assure that this path is laden with jewels and in the words of great writers ‘ink and paper cannot be to a more profitable purpose employed’ as it ‘ teacheth and moveth man to higher action of virtue.’

Department of MA English strives every day to live up to the moral values and humbleness which is seen overflowing in the works of the writers from the ancient to the modern times. When we see our students walk out as beacons of light though unseen and unnoticed by many, we still feel our purpose has been achieved.

Vision: We aim for the overall development of our students. Instill in them confidence and faith so that any avenue can easily be handled; for they have the art and the much required tool of writing and speaking, the two ingredients which work as the pillars of sustainability in life.
