Social sciences club was started in the year 2015. Initially it was a student’s club but slowly Social Sciences lecturers also started involving actively in the activities, in the fields of Economics, Political science, Public administration, Sociology and History.
The goals and objectives of Social Sciences club is to promote and educate others on the importance of the social sciences in our world and help the less and also advance our own knowledge and understanding of the social sciences.
The students of the club demonstrate creativity as well as the relevancy when producing projects in their field of study. The field of study include Economics, political Science, public administration, history and sociology. The students do various activities like creative projects, plays & debates, exhibitions, guest lectures and many more.
Consumer awareness programme was conducted by Petroleum Conservation Research Association (HP Madhu Gas Secunderabad) on Safety and Precautions while using LPG Cylinders on 08th February 2019. The speaker for the day was Mrs. Rajyam Ganesham
To commemorate the Constitution Day or ‘Samvidhan Divas’, the faculty of social sciences conducted the debate and poster presentation competitions on 30th January 2020.
The club organized The Social Science Fest in the month of September 2018 which included subject corners, art gallery and poster presentation.
Department of Economics conducted assembly and students spoke on the festival of “PONGAL” and about the benefits of female education in the society
The faculties of Social Sciences conducted annual college literary Quiz competition on General Knowledge on 9th January 2018.
The department of History and Sociology organized Earth Day. It was celebrated on April 22nd, 2017 by the students of B.A. The importance of environment and protection of trees was explained and a visit within the college campus was facilitated.
The department of sociology headed by lecturer Ms. Shalini and the students participated in the I WILL GO OUT campaign in Hyderabad. A march to demand for safe public spaces for girls and women against street sexual harassment on 21st January 2017.
